Treasure Adventure Game is one of those games where the title pretty much sums up the whole experience: an epic, open-world romp across a huge world filled with treasure, maps, secrets, danger and triumph. Your avatar is a boy who lands on an island without knowing who he is, but with the help of a talking parrot and some ancient maps that wash ashore, he sets off to collect 12 mystical treasures scattered around the globe during an ancient cataclysm.

Using the basic equipment of a hat, a parrot and a pocket-sized boat (which appears whenever you touch water), you'll utilise these simple tools in surprising ways as you wander across islands themed around everything from a tropical paradise to a tree that contains poisoned talking rats. On top of this standard platforming gameplay, you'll be able to utilise your parrot as a boomerang hook hand and take advantage of the fact that your hat doubles as a warp whistle (a black circle present on every island that when grabbed and released activates a portal to a different dimension).

Treasure Adventure Game has quite a few tricks up its sleeve that keep it from being a typical 2D platformer. For example, some of the islands have a day-and-night cycle, and certain activities only happen at specific times (like a store that only opens between 5 and 16). And there's also a surprisingly comprehensive map system that can be used to pinpoint the exact X and Y coordinates of hidden treasures, dungeons and other items.
